Yesterday, we took one vital step to a more sustainable future, yes, we took our vehicle through the drive through at Burger King. To prove this, here is a link to the video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JsbR_MLiWU&feature=youtu.beBy the way, I ordered a Frozen Coke.

Hi. Can you tell me if we can weld the roll cage to the frame (both EWS steel tube)? Thanks, Shane.

Hi Shane, yes you can weld the roll cage to the frame. Be sure to ensure a strong join, the addition of gussets may help depending on the diameter and thickness of your tube. Refer to the 'Notes Section' of the technical regulations for tips and hints. Looking forward to seeing some photos of your build! Matt

Hi, I was wondering if we would be allowed to be seated kneeling like in the image below and if we could make our roll cage removable. Also, should questions be posted in this thread or in a new one?

Kia ora Joe
Thanks for your questions. Yes post here or start a new thread, in time I will move if similar themes crop up.
With regard to the roll cage, yes it can be removable, all fixings should be of sufficient strength so as not to fail in the event of an incident. E.g. has bolt mounting plates of significant thickness and area.
With regard to your seating question, no.
8.2 The driver must be seated in a conventional feet forward, head to the back position. In this position there's a probability of reasonable deceleration occurring before more vulnerable parts (your head) contacts the cart or track.
Hope that clarifies Joe. Building with the technical regulations in mind right from the start and asking when you are unsure is the best way to ensure you pass scrutineering and get to compete.
Good luck with the build and keep us posted.

Hi Matt Thanks for your reply. Would we be allowed a design with 2 bulkheads, one for each foot (our front steering wheel would be in between our feet)

yes that would be fine, as long as the feet cannot easily escape into the wheel! Apologies for the delay. Matt
